A Gigantic Funnel...

Think of it this way:  Journalism, the news business, is like a gigantic funnel.

Since there are billions of people, it follows that there are billions of events happening every day.  And along with the all the goings on around the world, many of those events occur in America.  Good events, bad events, but a whole lot of events.

And it's the job of our journalistic corps, our vaunted "Fourth Estate," the only job given special preference by the U. S. Constitution, to sort through all these events and decide which deserve to receive reportage.  Events which need to see the light of day to the advantage of the reporters' audiences.  That would be you and me.  At least, that's the way it's supposed to be.

And so our news organizations, the so-called "MainStreamMedia" (MSM), unilaterally decides what of that cornucopia of stuff that just happened around the world which deserves to be reported.  In essence, the MSM operates a "funnel."  It looks at everything, theoretically, and then "cancels out" that which it doesn't believe you need to see and or hear, and then only chooses to report on that which meets its ideological leanings and perspective.  

And its politics.

Did I tell you that 95% of all journalists in the District of Columbia admitted to voting Democrat in 2016?  Admitted to it?  And that number was 92% in 2018?  Could it be that there's an ideological preference in our journalistic corps?  Ummmm, yeah, it would appear so...

Anyway, that's why a CNN or MSNBC, and ABC/CBS/NBC/ NBP/PBS and all but a couple of newspapers choose not to cover the President's news conferences live.  Could it be that they're afraid he might say something that doesn't fit with their narrative, perhaps?  And beliefs?  Could it be that he just might say something that would endear him to a prospective voter?  Ummm, that's another yeah!  

That's how a White cop can be killed by a Black felon, and then "crickets;" not a mention on the MSM.  That's how 80 people can be shot and a dozen killed over any given weekend in Chicago and it doesn't warrant a mention in the MSM.  Not a single mention!  That's how 2,000 or 3,000 "Antifa" and "Black Lives Matter" anarchists can riot and burn and loot in Portland and Seattle and Chicago and Atlanta and NYC the MSM will either congratulate the participants for being "peaceful protesters," or fail to mention it at all.  

And that's how 1,000 cops can be injured, and 18 killed since George Floyd died, without a single mention on the MSM.  Like I said, a funnel.  

That's how the Press Secretary at a White House news conference can be intentionally misquoted by all but two MSM agencies, as happened recently, and when that intentional "error" is brought to their attention, they do nothing to correct it.  Because they don't care.  And their audiences don't seem to care.  Or they're not enlightened enough to care.  Or dare I say it, too vacuous to care.  And the Bottom Line:  They don't have to.  

But the worst part of this scenario is that those who watch nothing but Left-wing MSM channels will never know about the news that those channels refuse to air.  They will never know what they were prevented from knowing, or even hearing about.   

This is how "disinformatia," as the Russians called, and as our MSM is now practicing, so dramatically alters our news gathering and presentation.  If a news organization "leans Left," as the saying goes, that's fine, so long as it's admitted and "owned."  Yet, that's never done; clearly Left-wing MSM channels pretend to be "mainstream" to attract the largest possible audience.  To attract "clicks."  They pretend to be straight down the line, reporting "only the facts."    

Heh, heh.  That's a good one...

If you watch nothing but CNN, or MSNBC, or PBS, or NPR, or the Alphabet broadcast channels, you're not getting all the news.  You're not getting an unbiased peek at what's going on.  You're getting, rather, some Leftist's idea of only that which they believe you should see and hear.  Do you want that?

Did you know that the Associated Press, the self-described provider of all things "news" to independent news channels worldwide, has now decided to capitalize the "B" in Black, for Black people, but not the "W" in White, for White people?  That's because, as they say, the Black folks' history is such that they deserve a capitalized descriptor because of all they've been through (they've been through?), yet White people do not (note:  I've capitalized the "W," and henceforth will).  That's what I'm talking about.  These news organizations are inserting themselves between the news - and you.  They are controlling the funnel.  To your detriment. 

Don't believe me?  The "BLM" thugs, engaged in yet another act of anarchy, set fire to the Oakland, California courthouse this past weekend.  The AP reported it as a "...peaceful protest that intensified."  I guess Pearl Harbor was "Peaceful flying lessons that intensified."  Man, that's torturing English to within an inch of its life...

Do yourselves a favor, fellow Patriots.  Do your homework.  Watch ALL the channels, and then compare and contrast and decide for yourselves what constitutes "the truth."  If you do this, and everybody else does as well, then the socialist-leaning MSM channels that are "funneling" a bunch of ideological, Left-wing pablum your way will be either forced out of business, or to move to the political center, where they used to be, and where they've always belonged.

But I'm not holding my breath...

"Systemic Racism"

Systemic Racism:  As per Webster, a form of racism that is embedded as normal practice within a society or an organization.  It can lead to such issues as discrimination in criminal justice, employment, housing, heath care, political power, and education, among other issues.  Systemic racism affects the whole body. 

Or as Lost Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti calls it, "Systemic racism is when racism gets into the systems."  You wonder how cities get into problems?  This is your answer... 

And so, with that as an amuse bouche, I now launch my latest rant:

We're told America has this "systemic racism" ingrained into its very being, as outlined above.  I didn't know we had that, did you?  I'm pretty sure we didn't have it before George Floyd was killed, otherwise we'd have been told about it.  Or "rioted" about it.  Right?  No Floyd, no riots.  No Floyd, no looting, no burning, no anarchy.  Right?  Right? 

We didn't have it when Obama and Biden were running things for 8 entire years.  We must not have had it, otherwise Obama and Biden would have addressed it, and fixed it.  Right?  I don't recall them having said a single word about this subject, do you?  Surely Obama, our famously "half-Black" President, would have fixed systemic racism if we had systemic racism, right?  But we didn't, and they didn't.

And we didn't have it for the first three and one-half years of Donald Trump's presidency, otherwise we'd have heard about it sooner.  Right?  Incessantly, right?  Or the rioting and looting and burning would have started sooner, right?

But we didn't.  And it didn't.  Right?  Right?

Yet, we're being told that America has some sort of deep-seated, ingrained, died-in-the-wool systemic racism that infects you and me and all of us, and for which we need professional help from "Antifa" and "Black Lives Matters" to excise it.  And to apologize for it.  And to pay reparations for it!  And in the meantime, or perhaps until we all "give up," or most likely until the sun comes up on November 4th, legions of their sycophants are busy burning down - destroying - several of our oldest, and "bluest" cities.  

I guess that's their new definition of "urban renewal."  

Now, I'm not sure just who the  "they" are who are telling us all this, or how "they" came to that diagnosis, but I'm here, fellow Pilgrims, to refute that allegation.  I don't recall any race riots during Trump's Presidency.  Or, at least not until the suspiciously convenient killing of a Black felon by a rogue White cop provided the suspiciously timely impetus for such a conflagration to start.

"Everybody ready?  Everything in place?  Okay, here we go..." 

 
But it did. Floyd died and the riots started.  And they're still underway, night after night, in our oldest and "bluest" cities.  Not Wichita, Kansas, or Rapid City, South Dakota, or Savannah, Georgia, or Platte River Junction, Nebraska.  No siree Bob!  Just Portland and Seattle and Kansas City and New York City and Chicago and 34 other "deep blue" American cities.  Old "blue" cities with nary a Republican Governor or mayor or city council member within a hundred miles.  In any direction.

BTW, despite the fact that you won't see any rioting or looting or burning on CNN, or MSNBC, or NPR/PBS/ABC/CBS/NBC/, or any of the other "Alphabet" channels (It's 'peaceful protesting!'), it's occurring.  And you can find proof of that fact by simply watching channels that actually report all sides of the news.

It's as if we're finally living in failed Democrat POTUS candidate "Breck girl" John Edward's "Two Americas."  The America where people live and love and work and play and pay their taxes, and the America where anarchists loot and burn and riot and tear down statues.  Where black-clad criminals do their best to injure or even kill our police officers.  Where our history is being erased through burning and vandalism right before our eyes.

So I ask you, fellow Pilgrims, in which "America" do you live?  And which America do you want?  Perhaps the answer to that question will tell us whether or not you believe we're beset with "systemic racism."  And if you live in the part of America without it, you're likely mad as Hell at this effort to destroy our Great Country.

Introducing! The "Peaceful Protesters" Travel Service!

     -  Rioting, Looting and Anarchy:  For a slight extra fee you'll be able to fit right in with the mob and throw stuff at the cops just like those "peaceful protesters" you hear about on Fox and OANN (CNN, MSNBC and the Alphabet Media do not cover these protests as they do not fit their ideological perspective or narrative).  You'll be provided with your own baseball bat, 3 frozen plastic water bottles, a laser pointer and two nice new red bricks.  Brick throwing lessons will be provided by "Antifa" organizers for anyone who needs them at no extra charge.

     NOTE:  You'll be pleased to know that we'll be offering gas masks for each of our clients.  Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you might have to run for your lives at any point.  Protest signs are available, or you can decide to make your own (poster board and Sharpies provided).  You must have your Advance Directive in place (please provide us with a copy).  DO NOT wear your MAGA hat.  Given that travelling to Portland is like visiting a war zone, the Management takes no responsibility AT ALL for the health and/or welfare of our guests.  No weapons are allowed, except for those we provide (guns may be used only by the "peaceful protesters").

Invitations have been sent to Governor Kate Brown and Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler to come and join us, but as yet our calls haven't been returned.

The Solution...

I believe I have the solution to our collective "problem."

And that "problem" would be that we have riots and arson and looting and destruction of property unfolding every night across our Great country by "Black Lives Matter" and "Antifa" leadership, and the "MainStreamMedia" is fanning the flames.

And through it all they're loudly calling for our police to be "defunded."  As in, having their budgets slashed, or "redirected" as Joe Biden recommends (same thing), or most likely eliminated entirely.  

Imagine that: several of our biggest, and all Democrat-(mis)led cities, are actively considering, or have already approved, eliminating some or all of their police departments in favor of some sort of "unicorns" and "rainbows" unarmed community response teams.  Presumably, these "teams" would consist of social workers and psychologists and racial harmony advocates and religious advisors, and perhaps some Black activists, just for good measure.  Once again, unarmed, of course.  And they would surely be able to talk some sense into a 6' 2", 230 lb., drunken and meth-addled baby daddy who's just beaten the crap out of his baby momma and is loudly threatening to kill both her and his toddler child, and anyone else who interferes, while brandishing his machete.

Yeah, that oughta' work.  That oughta' work reeeel good!   

And I hear they're planning for these same "teams" to do all the car stops as well.  We know that over half of all the physical altercations involving cops occur as a result of vehicle stops, so I'd suggest these "teams" go to the gym and work out a bit.

Oh yeah, the gyms are all closed.

Well, fellow Patriots, until or unless they figure all that out, I believe I had a better solution.  And here it is...

There are just about 800,000 cops patrolling the cities and highways and byways of America today.  77.1% of them are White, and 13.3% of them are Black.  The remainder are spread throughout the color spectrum, but that doesn't concern us here today.  All we're interested in, it seems, is Black vs. White.  And as they're happy to admit, they, the rioters and looters and vandals and anarchists from "Antifa" and "Black Lives Matter," only, ONLY care about Blacks.  And that's the way they want it.

(NOTE:  The Associated Press just announced it will henceforth capitalize the "B" in "Black," as in the race descriptor, but not the "W" in "White," the other race descriptor.  They say they're doing that because Blacks have been mistreated in the past, yada, yada.  But I, The Chuckmeister, shall henceforth capitalize both.  Because I'm egalitarian, that's why.)

To continue:  Just try saying "All Lives Matter" to anyone associated with this riotous gaggle of humorless thugs and you'll find out what I mean.  They'll beat the stuffing out of you and leave you a bloody mess...

So, instead of constantly being in a tinder box over when the next time a White cop kills a Black guy, and then the ensuing couple of months of rioting/burning/looting/protesting, I suggest we simply fire all the White cops and replace them with Black cops!*  Today!  And that'd be a great idea for 3 solid reasons.  

First, it would remove the excuse that Blacks are a hunted minority once and for all.  It just might make Whites a hunted majority, which I sincerely doubt, but it would certainly free our Black friends from believing they're being hunted night and day.  Even though they aren't.  And weren't.  And it would also remove a major talking point from the CNN/MSNBC/NPR/PBS/ABC/CBS/NBC Clickbait Media echo chamber crowd, which they incessantly bang like a snare drum.

Why?  Because they're a bunch of commie pinko dumbass liberal weenies, that's why.  There.  I said it.  (This IS an opinion piece, may I remind you, and this is MY opinion!).

Second, it would open up some 700,000 jobs for Blacks nationwide.  And I'd suggest we don't make the qualifications for employment too terribly high so we can get those jobs filled right away.  If an applicant is a felon with a conviction or two, or three, no problem.  That will make them more "empathetic" to the perpetrators they meet on the streets.  And it would also remove a talking point from poverty pimps and race hustlers, The Sharpton's and the Jackson's, for example, whose only job is deconstructing America.

Third, it would put 700,000 White folks on the streets, making them unemployed and making our Black friends feel oh so much better about themselves.  And who cares about White unemployment anyway?  They've been the preferred class for so long it will serve them right to be treated as the underclass for awhile.  

The good (bad!) news is that we have some 20,000,000 jobs unfilled at the moment, so our ex-White cops should have no trouble finding alternative employment.     

So, once this change takes place, our cop violence problem should be over (unless November 4th arrives first).  Unless Blacks start killing Whites in inordinate numbers, that is.  But even if they do, there will only be one or two news organizations reporting it.  And even when they do, no one will care, because that doesn't fit the current narrative.    

Remember:  Only White cops killing poor Black felons gets reported by the MainStreamMedia.  Got that?  I knew that you would...

Of course, this would almost certainly result in the creation of scads of private security forces, from the ranks of those fired White cops, to protect those who the new policing format leaves unprotected.  The Hollywood celebritards have used these private cops for years, but I suspect that a whole bunch of new ex-White-cops on the street will almost surely result in more of the same.  

Overnight we'll see teams of armed White militias spring up.  They already exist in small numbers, so they just have to emerge from the shadows.  And those militias will work for those who pay them; Media conglomerates and businesses and mega-churches and political organizations and major corporations and uber-rich magnates and oh so many others will hire them as "protection" from the marauding Antifa and "BLM" throngs, which most likely will be running things, just as they are now.  And those private White "armies" will then be in direct conflict with the-then Black police agencies, which will have to choose just who(m) to fight.  And there could well be gunfights in the streets as a result.

As I've said before, it's Dodge City, baby!  All over again!  Oh how I love the smell of gunsmoke in the morning...

*  I wrote this offering with a truck load of tongue-in-cheek to expose the hypocrisy of the rabid Left (exposing hypocrisy on every level is why God put me here).  Little did I know that Seattle City Council-weenie Lisa Herbold would make my case for me.  She, and the Council majority, just voted to reduce their police department's budget by 50%.  When told that seniority requirements would mean that Black officers would be the first ones furloughed, she made the motion that they just fire all their White cops instead!  And their City Council approved the motion.  Racism isn't racism, it seems, if socialists are practicing it...  

How To Get Rich...

You know what?

If a fella' wanted to get reeely rich in today's 'Murica, this would be the way to do it.  

Ready?

Here goes...

First, cobble together enough greenbacks to buy a liquor store.  Say you and some buddies all throw your available buckaroos into the center of the card table and put enough down to buy a local liquor store.  One in a middle-American, Democrat-led community with lots of residents, all eating and sleeping and working and living.  

And then I'd travel around to all the gyms within 20 miles.  The ones that are closed because their Democrat governors are of the belief that gyms and clothing stores and restaurants should all be closed due to the Chinese Coronavirus, but liquor stores should be wide open.  

I'd trade these gyms their future success in exchange for control of their businesses.  Whether actual ownership or just voting control, it's the same deal as far as this little scam, er business plan is concerned.  Are you with me so far?

And now owning or controlling all those gymnasiums out there, by a liquor store (may I repeat that???), by a liquor store, will now permit them to stay open during each and every pandemic, or epidemic, or stupidemic, forever.  Not casinos, not bars, not abatoirs (look it up), not shoe makers, not lawn mower repair shops, not TV repairmen (persons? humans?), just liquor stores.  

Oh yeah, and maryjowannna establishments.  Maybe that's next.

But in the meantime, we just take one single solitary liquor store and turn it into a minor conglomerate of work-out places.  We could call it "Bobby's Liquor Emporium."  I like that, don't you?  And each gym would be labeled as "Annex #1," and "Annex #2," etc.  However, each gym would be operating under a "dba," or "doing business as."  Thus, they would each continue to operate under their own dba gym names, just as before.  Except that now they're a part of a liquor store empire, they'll all be offering cocktails at each location. 

"Margaritas?  Margaritas, anyone?"

So, in summation, if you can't close down a liquor store, then you can't close down a gym owned and operated by a liquor store.  Got it?

I knew that you would...  

Absolute Power...

I've kind of sat back quietly during this raging pandemic, for the most part, awaiting my Boy Guv to make up his mind about ending this whole "social distancing" and home confinement and mask-wearing thingie.

I know that his authority to MAKE me do these things is nonexistent, at best, considering that pesky old "Constitution," doncha' know.  I mean, the 1st Amendment to the Constitution gives me unquestioned authority to say whatever I want, to whomever I want, whenever I want and wherever I want.  

Except everything has limits, of course, even the size of Nancy Pelosi's refrigerators.

And that same Amendment gives me the unabridged Right to assemble with whomever I want, whenever I want.  And to practice whatever religion I want, whenever and wherever I want, no matter who gets pissed off about it.  

So I'd say my Rights pretty well trump (pun intended) any governor anywhere who decides to try and remove them.  But that doesn't mean they won't try, and aren't trying.  And I must admit that being old and somewhat bored with my normal, uneventful life, I'd actually enjoy one of these commie storm troopers ticketing me for exercising my 1st Amendment Rights.  Or 2nd, or 4th, or 5th, or, or...  And I'm sure there's an unused attorney somewhere or other who'd come to my defense and make the commies pay for having abused my Rights.

And that attorney wouldn't even have to be all that good, either.  I mean, there are more than 177,000 attorneys in California.  Surely there's a mediocre one available if needed...

Did you know there are more attorneys in Orange County, Taxifornia then in all of Canada?  Of course, there's no 1st Amendment in Canada to defend.  Or 2nd, or 4th, or 5th.  That oughta' tell you something...

Now, I'll admit that there are governors who will opine that their authority to adopt "emergency" restrictions to our Constitutional Rights is absolute.  That' whole "yelling 'fire!' in a crowded theater" thing is an example, doncha' know.  And I would agree. It depends on the emergency, of course.  But that authority is pretty much limited to The Peoples' decision as to whether or not such a proclamation is "reasonable."  Remember, they govern at the consent of The People.  If not, then I have the Right to simply disobey in a civil manner.

That's called "civil disobedience," doncha' know.  

Sort of like the hundreds of thousands - millions? - of "protesters" protesting in each of the 38 Democrat-led, bright-blue cities in which there are protesters protesting today.  Right now.  As we (digitally) speak they are protesting away.  And some of them are rioting and looting and burning and destroying and...

Example?  Sure.  Those same "protesters" set fire to the courthouse in Seattle last night.  And the police union headquarters.  And they smashed their way into Amazon and Apple stores.  And relieved them of all their inventory.  And they then mounted a carefully orchestrated assault on the Seattle police.  18 of them were wounded and required hospitalization.  That kind of protest...

The cops can write me a ticket for my lawlessness, if they choose, and I'll show up in court.  And then I'll either get found guilty, and forced to pay a fine or spend a few relaxing days in the Gray Bar Hotel, from which they're steadily releasing hardened felons due to the Chinese Killer Coronavirus (should be pretty empty in there), or be found innocent because the judge was a Republican appointee and actually understood and could read English and was committed to following the Law of the Land.  

And, if I'm found guilty, no doubt at the behest of a Liberal weenie judge, I'd appeal, and win.  And if not, I'd appeal again, and THEN win.  I'd win in the end, no doubt, because the Bill of Rights is absolute.  And any commie pinko puke who decides to separate me from those Rights will pay a price down the road.

Bet on it.

Except we're now faced with a collection of Democrat governors, 22 of them in all, who are happy as a clam over their new-found powers.  Powers over our lives.  Powers they've claimed over where we can go, and when, and with whom, and exactly how long we can stay.  Powers they would never, ever have in a normal, "non-emergent" situation.  And powers that time has proven they do not deserve.  However, their endeavoring to extend such emergency authority past the time it's absolutely proven necessary is the subject of this particular rant.  

A timely example is one Ted Wheeler, the Mayor of Portland, OreGone.  This once-great city has endured 54 straight nights of rioting and looting and burning and anarchy.  The "Antifa" thugs there have terrorized the local populace for months.  They have looted and burned and destroyed local businesses.  They have attempted, so far without success, to burn down the local Federal Courthouse.  And because it's a Federal building, our Government has chosen to protect it from destruction, via Executive Order, as one would expect.  So the DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf sent in a dozen or so CBP swat officers about ten days ago.  And they've stationed themselves between the vandals and the Courthouse they're so dead set on destroying.  And Portland's Mayor is mad about it.  And so is Senator Jeff Merkeley, (D-OR).  They are both on record as saying that the Federal officers are to blame for the violence there.

The looting and pillaging and burning has gone on unabated for 7 weeks now, and its the Federal officers who've been there for a few days who are at fault for the violence.  Hmmmm...

Better yet, the U.S. Attorney for that area has filed a lawsuit against the DHS and Trump and everybody else in an effort to get them to withdraw!  Imagine that!  A Federal attorney, representing us, The People, has been so heavily influenced by the "Dark Side" that he is attempting to help the rioters and looters and anarchists tear down our Federal courthouse.  Specifically, he says our Federal agents are "kidnapping" ordinary citizens and placing them in "unmarked cars" and whisking them away.  That is true, dummy!  Marked police cars have been burned to a toasty crisp of late, so driving them into a war zone isn't a very good idea (actually, there may not be any of them left!).  So they're using ordinary, unmarked rental cars to travel to the courthouse, and then use them to corral and transport the rioting thugs it arrests back to jail.

Think about that: a U. S. Senator and a U. S. Attorney and an American mayor are blaming Federal law enforcement officers for violence and destruction because they're protecting American property.  Not the "Antifa" criminals or the "Black Lives Matters" looters and arsonists and anarchists who are on record as desiring the overthrow of America that have become an ingrained part of Portland of late, but Federal officers.  Officers tasked with protecting a Federal courthouse.  A courthouse the mayor seems to want destroyed.  So he's ordered them to leave.  But he doesn't have the authority to make them do so.  Thus, we have what's called a "Mexican standoff."  One The People will ultimately win...

A formerly great American city is being deconstructed right before our eyes.  And so is its cousin, Seattle.  And those who were elected to protect and defend them are AWOL...

Anyway, a political organization for U. S. mayors has just adopted a resolution in support of reparations for Blacks.  And while the mayors didn't address the cost, one partner study has suggested it could reach...are you ready for it?...$6.2 Quadrillion!!!

That would be 6,200 $Trillion!  

That's, ummm, $6,200,000,000,000,000!  15 zeros!  I think!

That's enough to buy a brand-new Ford Mustang GT convertible, with all the options, for everyone on Earth.  I think. 

And that's without considering the "...costs of colonial slavery as well as racial discrimination following the abolition of slavery in the United States," it adds.  By comparison, the Gross Domestic Product of the entire world for 2019 was about $142 Trillion, making the reparations thus called for about 43 times the total of the world's production for the year!

They made this proclamation with a straight face.  Somehow...

U. S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, (D-TX) and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), both Black, and both Democrats, and both more than willing to share their opinions, as you've no doubt noticed, have proposed legislation to set up a "Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act."   

Hmmm...

Lee said this Commission would recommend "...any form of apology and compensation to begin the long delayed process of atonement for slavery."  Neither Lee nor Booker happened to mention the fact that there are no slaves in America today, nor slave owners, even while slavery is rampant in less-developed parts of the world.  Especially in Africa, I would add.

And neither Lee nor Booker offered up exactly why they chose not to bring this whole thing up while we had a Black President.  For 8 years.

It's been reported that this "Commission" has recommended a payment of at least $151 Million to each descendant of a slave.  

That's enough to buy a brand-new Mustang GT convertible..., oh never mind..

Lee explained that the Study essentially calculates the unpaid hours slaves worked, and a price for massacres and discrimination thrown in, and then adds in interest.  No one offered up just how they calculated how many hours however many people might actually have worked 400+ years ago, or mentions the "massacres" they highlight, or who was affected, or the range of interest rates that just might be charged, and to whom.  

The Study goes on to state, "Whether the full cost of slavery and discrimination should be compensated, or only a portion, and at what interest rate remains to be determined by negotiations between the Federal Government and the descendant community."  It was not mentioned with whom the Feds would negotiate.  And just exactly who is that "descendant community?"  Lee and Booker, perhaps?

The mayors said in their letter to Congress members, "We recognize and support this proposed legislation as a concrete first step in our larger reckoning as a nation, and a next step to guide the actions of both Federal and local leaders who have promised to do better by our Black residents."  

They said their support of the legislation "is not just an endorsement - it is a resolution."  Well then, I guess we have to take it seriously...

The mayors go on to mention that they will work diligently this year on a national platform known as an "American Breakthrough," which will be informed by mayor-led work groups on criminal interconnected challenges: Police Reform and Racial Justice; Guiding the COVID-19 Response and Health Equity; Eliminating Poverty; Dismantling Systemic Racism; and Supporting Equitable Economic Recovery. I wasn't aware mayors had that much authority.

They went on to state that they are committed to doing their role in local government to disrupt systemic racism, "...which inhibits the realization of a nation of liberty, prosperity, and justice for all."

The letter was signed by Greg Fischer, Mayor of Louisville, KY.

"Systemic racism" was not defined by this Commission, or by Lee or Booker.  Nor, I might add, can it be, since, in The Chuckmeister's opinion, it literally does not exist.

The study, by several academics, concluded:  "We argue that the U.S. Government should have paid reparations for enslavement and de jury racial discrimination because the ratification of the 5th Amendment in 1791, Article IV, Section 2 of the Constitution, established not only slavery but also the personhood of the enslaved, and the 5th Amendment applies to all persons, they said.  "Had these reparations been paid, they would have had intergenerational wealth implications for African-American descendants living today."

Now then, fellow Pilgrims, there's a whole lot to unpack there.  First, they somehow failed to mention that "40 acres and a mule" was offered to each and every freed slave back then, which cost our young nation an estimated $660 Million in 1865 dollars.  That would equate to more than $6 Billion in today's dollars.  

Nor is the yuuuuge investment we made as a Nation in the "Great Society" Programs of the 1960's and beyond, which have cost us another $6 Trillion Dollars to date. It also suggests that had further reparations been paid to freed slaves, their heirs, down through the centuries, would have invested and saved that money, like good capitalists, thus accruing to the interest of their Black descendants.  That's a pretty far stretch, doncha' think?

It seems they're making progress, by the way, as Asheville, North Carolina just voted to pay reparations to their Black citizens in an effort to atone for the awful stuff they think their forebears must have done to their Black residents way back when.  It should be noted they didn't plan to pay an actual monetary sum, but rather make investments of some sort in an amount to be determined in their Black communities.  I guess that would be those "communities of color" we keep hearing about...  

And if we Americans think, however, they're we're going to get away with paying only $6.2 Quadrillion per this little Plan, we shouldn't put away our checkbook quite yet.  This same study claims that the value of lost freedom to Japanese Americans held in interment camps during World War II could be pegged at $16 Quadrillion!  And that, they say, is without estimating the "...cost of opportunities lost or pain and suffering."  By my calculations that would equate to more than $One Half Billion Dollars for the heirs of each Japanese camp internee.  

I wonder if the Japanese Diet is considering reparations payments to the heirs of American sailors killed via their little sneak attack on Pearl Harbor some 70 years ago?  To include the "...cost of opportunities lost or pain and suffering?"  No?

Wowzer, Batman!  This little Commission has been smoking some damn fine weed!  I'd offer up that it probably quit puffing before it calculated the lost opportunity and pain and suffering for all the Irish immigrants brought here as indentured servants during the potato famine of the late 1800's, my forebears included, which required them to work for not less than 7 years to pay for their passage to America.  Plus, they were treated as 3rd class citizens, kicked and shoved and spat upon.  There were signs in every NYC bar and restaurant stating, "No dogs or Irish allowed!"  That ought to be worth a $Quadrillion or $Two in reparations, doncha' think?  

But I don't much care about this Commission or its findings.  Since I've already expressed to you, my faithful readers, that in an effort to poke a yuuuuge finger in the eye of all the SJW's out there, I "identify" as both Black and gay.  I'll therefore get a nice chunk of those reparations, I'm certain.  And we all know just how much the Democrat Party luuuuvs those who "identify" as something else.  Notice how many boys are winning races in girls track meets?  Notice how there are now three bathrooms in every Target?  Which, by my own reckoning, is the Obama Administration's Number One accomplishment?   

But $151 Million sounds good!  In fact, I'd say that figure should be sweetened a tad to take care of all the dirty looks I get for "identifying" as both Black and gay.  

In conclusion, fellow Patriot, while you and I are fighting a Chinese virus, and an out-of-control MSMedia, and a bunch of crazed academics, and the Hollyweird celebritards, and "Antifa" Marxists, and "Black Lives Matters," and a generation of young Americans who've yet to be taught to have pride in our Great Country and its fine and noble heritage, this gathering of commie pinko weenies has been wasting its time trying to get an "apology" and a pile of money from somebody for something nobody alive has ever done, to nobody alive at the current time...

But that won't stop them from trying...

It's Dodge City, Baby!

A total of 503 New York City police officers have filed for retirement since May 25th.  That would be the date that Geoge Floyd died.

That's the number so far.

Retirement applications are up more than 330% nationwide over a year ago, same time.  I wonder what it will be a month from now?

This number would be much, much larger, except for Mayor Bill De Blasio (real name, Warren Wilhelm, Jr.;  If I'd lived with and helped the Sandanista communists in Nicaragua, and then honeymooned in Havana, with Castro's help, I'd change my name too).  He just put through a $1 Billion Dollar Police Department budget cut, trimming the current $5.7 Billion dollar budget by more than 15%.  He also disbanded the NYPD's 600-man plainclothes drug and gun task force, depriving the citizens of their primary violence reduction resource.

And shootings are now up more than 300% as a result.

In fact, gun violence is at a rate not seen in more than 25 years.  A rate not seen since Rudy Guiliani swooped in and cleaned up New York City so very long ago.  Sigh!

His doing so has left the office that processes the retirement applications short-staffed.  This left no room for overtime, whether for policing the streets, or for providing administrative support to their cops.  Instead of an increase in the Police Department's budget, as had been requested, they just got hammered with this 15% reduction.   Only one part-time, half-day staffer is handling the retirement applications, with only 20 - 25 being accepted PER DAY, while up to 100 other officers are left standing in line, every day, disappointed.  

Once again, that's 20 or 25 officers putting in for retirement, PER DAY!  

That's a lot of very expensive, highly-trained talent being lost, don't you think?  Most police officers choose to serve well past their 20-year retirement window, so as to continue not only earning a living, but padding their ultimate retirement income as well.  25 years is the universal goal.  Yet NYC police are now leaving in droves just as soon as that 20-year calendar milestone is reached.

Perhaps their departure should tell us something...

I predicted several months ago on the pages of this august little blog that this current anti-police vendetta we're experiencing would cause officers with less than 5 or 6 years on-the-job to bolt just as soon as they could find alternative employment.  That means moving themselves and their families and their law enforcement experience to Wichita, KS, or Rapid City, SD, or Savannah, GA, or Omaha, NB.  And those over 20 years would retire immediately, thus avoiding all the anti-police unpleasantness (read: bullsh*t) now unfolding in America's biggest, and bluest, cities.

Three months ago cops were considered a part of our vaunted "first responders."  They were being applauded, loudly, along with our nurses and doctors and fire people.  There were parades for them.  The Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds did fly-bys in all the big cities for them.  Roses were thrown at their feet as they passed by...

Now?  Their lives are at risk.  They now face hatred and violence every day they go to work, which is why many just don't.  More than 300 cops have been injured in the past three months and some 18 have been killed, murdered on the job.  The "Blue Flu" has attacked more cops in our bluest big cities than has the Coronavirus.  On any given day as many as 15% of their active-duty cops are out "sick." 

And instead of roses, the "Antifa" and "Black Lives Matter" Marxist revolutionary thugs are now throwing bricks and crowbars and frozen bottles of water at them, hoping to wound, or even kill.  And yet, the perpetrators are seldom, if ever caught and prosecuted.  And if caught, they'll likely be granted no-cash bail and be back on the streets by lunchtime.  NYC and Lost Angeles have pioneered this little judicial nicety, meaning that any alleged crime short of murder leaves you with a "get out of jail free" card anytime you feel like breaking the law.  

There was one recent case worthy of the retelling.  This past May a car thief in Glendora, CA was chased by the cops.  A gun fight ensued, injuring one cop.  The perp was captured, arrested, booked...and then released on a no-cash bail.  He then proceeded to steal another car, got caught, and got released once again.  And then he stole ANOTHER car and was caught, and released.  All of this occurred between midnight on one day and noon the following day.  12. Total. Hours.  Does this make sense to you?  That's just how unbelievably stupid our laws have become in our biggest, and bluest, cities.  And how unbelievably stupid our lawmakers are in our biggest, and bluest, cities.  And a reason, perhaps the main reason, citizens are leaving in droves...

Do you think our police should be playing "catch and release" with our most dangerous felons?  Me neither...

NYC has already defunded its police force.  More cuts are expected soon.  Lost Angeles has cut its cop budget by $150 Million.  Minneapolis is planning to cut its police budget by 50%!  So is Seattle.  It even voted to decouple its 911 program from Seattle's police department operations!  

Can't you just imagine your midnight emergency call to 911 being answered by...Wal-Mart?  Or even worse, by the local chapter of "Black Lives Matter?"  

Something tells me these miscreants aren't smart enough to stop while they're ahead.  And they're waaaay ahead!  They'll continue their efforts to defund and eliminate the police in our biggest, bluest cities until they've achieved their goals.  However, that means that police in our smaller communities, along with the 100+ million American gun owners, will be at odds with the policing in our largest cities.  And the miscreants in those bigger cities might then decide to bring their little clown show to the suburbs. 

And that is where it will end.  With a thud.

Once again, have you noticed that all of this nastiness has occurred only in Democrat-run cities?  Only in the cities where Democrats are the governors, and mayors, and police chiefs?  Not a Republican anywhere to be found?  Worthy of note...

Can't you just imagine what would happen if a hundred or so black-clad "BLM" goons decided to take their little "protest" on the road to, let's say, Springfield, Missouri?  That would be the end of that "BLM" posse.  And the only thing Springfield's police department would have to do is clean up the mess...

Might I remind you that the last great high noon-style gunfight of the Old West occurred on July 21, 1865 between Wild Bill Hickok and Davis Tutt on the streets of Springfield.  Hickok drew his .36 Colt Navy Model revolver and shot Tutt right through the heart...from 75 yards away.  It seems that Tutt made Hickok mad.  Not a good idea to make a guy with a gun real mad, especially if he knows how to use it...  

Those hoping and praying that this national crisis we're all now enduring will somehow magically end, fuggettaboutit.  They want to get back to "normal."  Well folks, that's not going to happen.  Not so long as there's a General Election in less than three months.  In fact, I'd say that this nastiness we're now facing is actually because a General Election is upcoming.  I'd say it's being manufactured by those who wish to destroy our system of government and install socialism in its place.  

It seems that POTUS Trump and 100+ million American gun owners are the only ones standing in their way.  What are you going to do to help?

Dan Snyder kidnapped and held hostage!

Well, not really, but pretty close.  It seems that good ol' Dan is snookered.  The rabid Left has long demanded that he change the name of his little football team.  It seems they think that changing the name from "Redskins" will somehow feed the poor, or warm the heart of heartless corporate CEO's, or bring about world peace.   

Or maybe even make it win for a change...

An effort to force his hand failed about 8 or 9 years ago, when Obama first brought it up.  He just barely escaped back then, while stating flatly that he'd never, ever change the name, even though he's taken a few body blows in the meantime.  A major-league poll was taken a couple of years back among the Native American tribes about the issue.  90% said they either liked the name, or were not against it.  Even so, many stores, including Amazon, the very biggest, have now refused to carry his team's jerseys (they're the "wokenistas").  Even Pepsi and the Bank of America have joined in by opting out.  But until the recent hissy fit the hard-Left is throwing, he was able to skirt the subject.

No longer.

You might think a $Billionaire owner of an NFL football team could do any damn thing with it he wanted.  But you would be wrong.  The uber-Left mayor of the District of Columbia is now refusing to let the Redskins play in D.C. unless or until the name is changed.  That's the same dimbulb who painted "Black Lives Matter" right next to the White House in letters large enough to be seen from the International Space Station. 

And piling on, Fred Smith, CEO of Fed-Ex, is a 40% owner of the Redskins.  His company also holds the naming rights on their new stadium, the "Fed-Ex" Field.  Smith just send Snyder a curt letter demanding he change the team's name.  Ummmm, gulp!  He was so, shall we say insistent, that he stated he'd pull the "Fed-Ex" name from the Fed-Ex Field should Snyder fail to act.

Today, Snyder said he would act.

So, being the always-helpful, Eagle Scout, ex-Army (a)Ranger sort that I am, I thought I'd offer up a name that's absolutely certain to pass muster with (nearly) everyone in America.  And that means even those America-hating, Ivy League-educated, Prius-driving, Sauvignon Blanc-sipping, tax cut-hating commies who get triggered by everyone and everything.  

Oh, I could offer up the obvious name here, folks.  I could offer up "Indigenous Personages."  The "Washington Indigenous Personages!"  Yeah, Team!  Go Team!  They were the Redskins, just change it to "Indigenous Personages!"  Means the same thing, just updated to make all the Leftoid pantywaists happy.    

But to be absolutely certain that everyone, everywhere will agree with the selection, and finally, FINALLY leave him alone, Dan should pick the following name:

Yes, the "2001's."  What's a "2001" you might ask?  That's the zip code for the District of Columbia.  And nobody but the most rabid numerologist could possibly be against that name (although I'm sure that vacuous Congress-babe with too many names and too little I.Q. from the Bronx will absolutely hate it!).  In fact, I, The Chuckmeister, hereby suggest that all our pro football teams change their names to reflect their zip codes.  That simple move would deprive all the hate-everythings while offering up something for all to love.  

So Dan, it's yours to use.  It's on me.  No recompense required.  Just the thought that I've helped rescue a fellow conservative from a viper pit of screaming triggered Lefties is enough compensation for me...
