As we struggle through this Wuhan Killer Chinese Coronavirus pandemic, we have no way of knowing whether we're still at the very beginning of it, or near the end, or somewhere in between.
You know this, of course, because you're smart. If you weren't you wouldn't be reading this exciting, sometimes cringe-inducing, world-class little blog of no consequence to anyone, but me, whatsoever. Or have received it in the first place, for that matter...
However, as your faithful Scribe Without Portfolio, your guide through the pitfalls of totalitarianism, your friendly helper without compensation of any kind, except for psychic, that is, I thought I'd send along a few of my random observations about living in 2020 America. Some you'll find insightful, I hope. Others? A waste of your valuable time, no doubt. But you'll have to be the one to decide. Decide away...
- Have you noticed that masks are now America's new "talisman?" The "proof" that we're all "woke" and "with it? The newest effort to "virtue signal" by the aggrieved? Especially those with a major case of the "butthurt?" The very same masks that didn't work back in February and March (the CDC told us so!), and then began miraculously working starting in April and May (the CDC told us so!)? The ones we just have to wear in order not to be screamed out of the local post office or grocery store or gas station by some random Karen or Kevin? That one?
- Have you noticed that our police, the very same ones we were feting back in February and March, the ones at whose feet we were throwing garlands of roses, the ones to whom we were singing hosannas, are now the mortal enemy? The folks about half of us want hunted down and killed? And some of that half are actually doing so? Nightly, unfortunately, in cities like Portland and Seattle and Chicago?
- Have you seen any videos on the evening news of what's life's like today in once-beautiful downtown Portland? Or Seattle? Or the fabled and majestic canyons of New York City? Or Chicago's Miracle Mile? Have you thought to wonder why? Could it be that it's because there's very little left of what used to be called "downtown" in so many of our biggest old cities?
It was just reported that fully 300 Seattle businesses have boarded up and given up. Out of business. For good. Have you noticed that you haven't been treated by our DNCMedia to what blocks and blocks of these boarded-up businesses and burned-out churches and homeless encampments look like in ANY of these cities? Midtown Manhattan, fellow Patriots, is a ghost town. Nobody home. They've all gone. Why? Maybe those who once lived here were afraid for their lives! And as to the DNCMedia, are they afraid if you knew what Antifa and Black Lives Matters-style anarchy can do to a modern city you'd change your opinion of these two Marxist organizations? And perhaps even vote for another candidate and another political party? One that can make you safe from such anarchy?
- Have you noticed that increasingly middle-of-the-road Fox News routinely features members of both sides of any debate to better illuminate you, the viewer? Yet, with very few exceptions, the other news networks routinely only invite Democrats or socialists or communists or Marxists to debate the issues? No representatives of other political opinions or philosophies to be found anywhere? Ever? And if they do it's a "token" conservative who thinks Trump is evil and should be taken out and shot? Is it that they can't get anyone from an alternative political opinion to appear, or is it that they just don't want to let their audiences know there IS another political opinion to report?
- Have you noticed that the wildfires that have burned more than 4 million acres out west seem to stop right about the Canadian border? And the Nevada border? And the Idaho border? Could it be that Canada and Idaho understand forest management and know that you must clear dead trees and underbrush and tinder from around fire-prone areas in order to prevent fires? It's called forestry management. Duh! It's taught in colleges all across America. Apparently nobody from California bothered to attend...
As Smoky once so famously said, "Only (California) can prevent forest fires."
- Have you noticed that you no longer "need" a weekly visit to the movie theater like you used to? Or an occasional visit to a theme park or a ticket to a concert or sporting event in order to live your life? Or that those "celebrities" whose opinions you once valued so very much no longer hold much sway in your life? Funny when folks are dying from a pandemic and struggling to put food on the table how quickly movie stars become "non-essential," isn't it?
- Don't you find it interesting that the businesses Democrat-led cities and counties and states chose to shut down at the beginning of this pandemic were churches and synagogues and mom-and-pop shoe stores, yet liquor stores and big box hardware stores and pot shops and supermarkets were allowed to remain open? Could it be that the reason for such a decision was that maryjowanna emporia and booze hawkers brought in tax revenue and churches...don't?
- Have you noticed that our major news organizations, the so-called "MainStreamMedia," used to tell us the news and then we decided how to think about it. Now? The DNCMedia tells us what to think about the news they've permitted us to see, and we get to nod our heads in collective agreement...
- Have you noticed that those Democrats, like Biden and Harris, who wanted to confiscate our guns earlier this year have stopped talking about the subject entirely? Maybe it's because it's the Democrats who've been flooding gun stores this year and trying their best to buy protection against all those "Biden voters" who've been burning down our biggest cities...
- Did you notice that not a single elected Democrat, including either Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, made mention of the fact that their followers were rioting all over America? Not even during their formal televised, week-long DNC convention? An entire week of it? Even though all these riots were occurring in Democrat-controlled cities, no elected Democrat seemed to notice. In fact, only the changing polls caused them to finally notice that their voters were burning down America. Funny how that happens...
These are just some of my observations over the past few weeks. No doubt you've had a number of your own. And I always feel it's neighborly to share our opinions with those we value, especially if we're heading into the single most consequential election in our Country's history.
Which we are...
